My Story
For more than thirty years, I've built strategy from the operating chair — as Chief Administrative Officer of a national broker-dealer and registered investment adviser within a mutual insurance organization, Chief Operating Officer of an institutional investment manager, and Chief Administrative Officer of a multi-billion-dollar private family office, with earlier work spanning startups to complex public- and private-sector enterprises. And I've led advisor development at national scale: as Vice President of Field Development for AIG Retirement, I guided the growth and development of a field force of roughly 2,000 advisors and their teams.
The craft: strategic plans, maps, and playbooks — and the execution plans and dashboards that make them real. Strategy, done well, is equal parts art and science: envision a compelling future, then operationalize it until it creates value stakeholders can measure.

Input: Ideate with your team in focused strategic sessions, systematically focusing on a vision that represents your desired future. This approach effectively blends the core purpose, vision, and/or mission, the team's collective thinking, insights, and internal and external views, ensuring a value-creation focus.
Output: A set of clear objectives, goals, illustrative visuals, and vision that guides the strategic direction, providing a roadmap for engineering these elements into a practical and actionable strategic plan.
Planning: Mapping Strategy and Action
Input: Translate inputs from strategic sessions to link the "who, what, why, and how," then map value-creation to the specific strategic priorities, initiatives, and tactics to achieve. This strategic process delivers action to short-, medium-, and long-term objectives and goals with clear deliverables.
Output: A multi-year strategic playbook comprised of a strategy map, annual plan, financial plan, execution plan, and aligned performance metrics to measure strategic success.
Execution: Implement and Execute
Input: Communicate and cascade the strategy throughout the enterprise to help bring the vision to life. Clear strategic direction, a strategically aligned workforce, and supportive culture, complemented by a well-aligned structure, are all essential for successful strategic implementation and execution.
Output: A robust and actionable implementation plan including a communication strategy, project execution roadmap, scorecard, strategy execution reviews, and strategic cycles.
Support and Resources
Input: Coaching and consulting for special projects and resource augmentation. Specializing in supporting transitions, system implementations, and business presentations, with services spanning key areas including strategy and business planning, operations, human resources, marketing, and sales.
